POST WAXING TREATMENT

To ensure maximum comfort and benefit after the treatment, it is important to follow the steps below at home.

  • Avoid applying heat to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam.

  • Avoid exercise or sweating for 24 hours this could irritate the area and encourage bacteria
  • Avoid sun tanning for 12 to 24 hours.

  • Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes, perfume, scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics, or feminine hygiene sprays.

  • Avoid using harsh abrasive or exfoliates in the waxed area. However if you are prone to in-grown hairs, the day after your waxing treatment, exfoliate newly waxed area with a loofah to avoid future problems.

  • Avoid applying high SPF sun blocks to the waxed area for 12-24 hours after the waxing service. Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to the newly waxed skin. This includes self-tanning products and tan accelerators.

  • Any pinking of the skin should disappear within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment. Slight pinking is normal, and indicates that the hair was removed from the root, rather than superficially broken off, as in shaving. This is the reason that professional waxing lasts so much longer.

Recommendation

Before

 Microneedling / RF Microneedling Treatment

  • Blood-thinning medications, such as Aspirin, ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or nutritional supplements, including Fish Oil, vegetarian Omega-3, Vitamin E, turmeric, ginger or garlic tablets, should not be taken within 72 hours both before and after the procedure.

  • If you’re prone to cold sores, you should take an antiviral prescription for the 48 hours before and the day of your treatment to prevent any flare-ups.

  • You will want to refrain from using abrasive skincare products, such as retinol, exfoliants, topical antibiotics and acids, for at least 48 hours before microneedling.

  • Cosmetic procedures, such as botox, other laser beauty treatments and chemicals, should be avoided for 2 weeks before microneedling.

  • You should not consume any alcohol within 24 hours before and refrain from having any caffeinated foods or drinks the day of your microneedling procedure. These substances can promote bruising and inflammation, which can harm or hinder the healing process. Intense exercise also should be avoided in the 24 hour period before your appointment.
You may need to avoid RF Microneedling If you have an underlying condition that impairs your immune system.
  •  Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Chronic inflammatory skin disease Bleeding disorders
  • Active radiation or chemotherapy treatments

Microneedling

Aftercare Precautions

CLEAN – Use a gentle cleanser and tepid water to cleanse the face for 72 hours post-treatment, and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area, and do not use a Clarisonic or other powered cleansing brushes for at least one week after your treatment. Be careful to keep your hands and pillow case ultra-clean while your face is healing to avoid any risk of infection.

HEAL – We recommend Healing cream and post-treatment, as its properties are ideal to help heal the skin by soothing and lessening irritation.

HYDRATE – Following your Microneedling  treatment, your skin may feel drier than normal. Hyaluronic Acid is an ideal ingredient you can use to hydrate and restore the skin back to perfect balance. Stay properly hydrated by drinking at least 64 oz of water each day

STIMULATE – In the days following your Microneedling treatment, and as the skin starts to regenerate, collagen-stimulating peptides are ideal to maximize the effects of the stimulation already started by the microneedling.

MAKEUP – Refrain from wearing makeup for at least 24 hours (the more days you can spend bare-faced, the better)

PROTECT – Immediately after the procedure, your skin professional will apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB, SPF 30 sunscreen to your skin. We recommend a chemical-free sunscreen. Keep in mind that you should continue to use sunscreen everyday.

Microneedling Aftercare Precautions

  • To ensure the proper healing environment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) scrubs or anything perceived as “active” skincare for one week post treatment.

  • Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 72 hours.

  •  Do not go swimming for at least 72 hours post-treatment

  •  Do not exercise or participate in strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment.

Before and after a Chemical peel

Now that you've had your first peel, there are a few simple steps for after care that you will need to follow:

Steps to follow

BEFORE:

3 days prior to your peel you will want to stop using all harsh cleansers, Scrubs of any kind and moisturizers containing active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids, and perfumes.

AFTER:

Continue to avoid all harsh cleansers, Scrubs of any kind and moisturizers containing active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids, and perfumes. Days 1- 10 day after the peel.  Keep sun exposure to a minimum for the 1-10 days after the peel. Wear a SPF 30.

Slight crusting and/or peeling in particular areas may develop. Please DO NOT PICK THE SKIN as this could lead to scarring. Try not to touch your skin after a peel with your hands to keep bacteria off of the skin which could lead to breakouts.

Day 1-3   Tight, dry skin with mild to moderate redness and sensitivity.

Day 2-5  Areas of dark skin (this is the old skin in preparation to peel) Peeling begins.

Wash nightly with clean hands and a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil and remove any makeup very gently. Apply a thick, bland moisturizer like Cetaphil Cream or Vanicream.  You will need to increase your use of a moisturizer after the peel as your skin will be temporarily drier.

Day 6-10  Slight flaking or peeling lasting 2-7 days.

Expected changes over the next 7 to 14 days

If you have any concerns or questions please call the office.
