POST WAXING TREATMENT

To ensure maximum comfort and benefit after the treatment, it is important to follow the steps below at home.

  • Avoid applying heat to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam.

  • Avoid exercise or sweating for 24 hours this could irritate the area and encourage bacteria
  • Avoid sun tanning for 12 to 24 hours.

  • Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes, perfume, scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics, or feminine hygiene sprays.

  • Avoid using harsh abrasive or exfoliates in the waxed area. However if you are prone to in-grown hairs, the day after your waxing treatment, exfoliate newly waxed area with a loofah to avoid future problems.

  • Avoid applying high SPF sun blocks to the waxed area for 12-24 hours after the waxing service. Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to the newly waxed skin. This includes self-tanning products and tan accelerators.

  • Any pinking of the skin should disappear within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment. Slight pinking is normal, and indicates that the hair was removed from the root, rather than superficially broken off, as in shaving. This is the reason that professional waxing lasts so much longer.

Recommendation for the Best Microneedling Aftercare:

  • CLEAN – Use a gentle cleanser and tepid water to cleanse the face for 72 hours post-treatment, and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area, and do not use a Clarisonic or other powered cleansing brushes for at least one week after your treatment.
  • HEAL – We recommend serum antioxidants post-treatment, as its properties are ideal to help heal the skin by soothing and lessening irritation.
  • HYDRATE – Following your treatment, your skin may feel drier than normal. Hyaluronic Acid is an ideal ingredient you can use to hydrate and restore the skin back to perfect balance.
  • STIMULATE – In the days following your Microneedling treatment, and as the skin starts to regenerate, collagen-stimulating peptides are ideal to maximize the effects of the stimulation already started by the microneedling.
  • MAKEUP – We recommend you do not apply makeup for 24 to 72 hours after the procedure. In addition, do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if the brush is not clean.
  • PROTECT – Immediately after the procedure, your skin professional will apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB, SPF 25 or greater sunscreen to your skin. We recommend a chemical-free sunscreen. Keep in mind that you should continue to use sunscreen everyday—not only the days following your procedure—as part of your skincare routine to protect your skin from sun damage and premature aging.

Microneedling Aftercare Precautions

  • To ensure the proper healing environment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) scrubs or anything perceived as “active” skincare for one week post treatment.
  • Do not use any powered cleansing brushes like Clarisonic for one week post treatment.
  • Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 72 hours.
  • No tanning beds.
  • Always wear sunscreen.
  • Do not go swimming for at least 72 hours post-treatment.
  • Do not exercise or participate in strenuous activity for the first 72 hours post-treatment.

Before and after a Chemical peel

Now that you've had your first peel, there are a few simple steps for after care that you will need to follow:

Steps to follow

BEFORE:

3 days prior to your peel you will want to stop using all harsh cleansers, Scrubs of any kind and moisturizers containing active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids, and perfumes.

AFTER:

Continue to avoid all harsh cleansers, Scrubs of any kind and moisturizers containing active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids, and perfumes. Days 1- 10 day after the peel.  Keep sun exposure to a minimum for the 1-10 days after the peel. Wear a SPF.

Slight crusting and/or peeling in particular areas may develop. Please DO NOT PICK THE SKIN as this could lead to scarring.

Day 1-3   Tight, dry skin with mild to moderate redness and sensitivity.

Day 2-5  Areas of dark skin (this is the old skin in preparation to peel) Peeling begins.

Wash nightly with a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil and remove any makeup very gently. Apply a thick, bland moisturizer like Cetaphil Cream or Vanicream.  You will need to increase your use of a moisturizer after the peel as your skin will be temporarily drier.
